New Directions In Rock Magnetism

The Institute for Rock Magnetism (IRM) was established in the fall of 1990 as a National Multi-User Facility whose core mission is to serve the greater geomagnetic community by providing free-of-charge access to state-of-the-art facilities and technical expertise, and by encouraging visiting researchers in their studies of important new topics in rock magnetism and related interdisciplinary fields. In addition, the IRM is committed to:

Improving the quality of education and enriching the intellectual environment of the University and the State of Minnesota
Providing an international meeting place for researchers of magnetism to exchange and develop ideas
Exploring fundamental questions at the frontiers of modern mineral magnetism
Developing links to other science and engineering research disciplines, to the industrial research sector, and to other academic fields

Decades of Scientific Contribution and Collaboration
