The "Roly-Poly" Magnetic Anisotropy Bridge

In-House designed anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility bridge

A more detailed description can be found in IRM Quarterly v. 3, n. 3, Fall 1993.

The Roly-poly is used to make rapid (c.a. 2 minutes per sample) measurements of anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility. Stepper motors rotate the sample at 1.8 degree steps in three orthogonal planes providing a total of 600 directional susceptibility measurements from which the best-fit AMS tensor is obtained by least-squares.
